• Prices, Payments and Policies

    The goal of the Lourdes Academy Food Service Program is to provide a healthy lunch to children during the school day.  In order to serve healthy, high-quality meal, we must make sure the food service department is financially secure.  Parents/guardians play a key role in this effort and are responsible for purchases made by their child in the school cafeteria.

    The school lunch program is a pre-paid debit system.  It is not a credit system and requires all family accounts carry a positive balance for holt lunch meals and ala carte purchases.  Students receive a lunch id number that they are able to use throughout their years spent at Lourdes Academy.


    • Grades 9-12 ~ $3.05
    • Grades PK-8 ~ $2.95

    What's included in a student meal?  We offer choices from each of the following food groups every meal we serve:

    • Grain
    • Protein
    • Milk
    • Fruit 
    • Vegetable

    Students must have a fruit and/or vegetable on their tray in order for their purchases to be priced as a student meal.  They must also have a selection from at least 3 of the 5 food groups.  Consider watching this helpful video for a moire indepth explanation or take a look at our "Create a Meal" poster.


    Lunch account payments need to be mailed to or dropped off in your child's school office.  Please allow up to two business days for payments to be posted.  Payments can be made by cash or check.

    • Payment by check
      The student's name and/or lunch account number must be written on the check in the memo field.  Checks should be made payable to Lourdes Academy.
    • Payment by cash
      Place cash in an envelope marked with the student's name and/or lunch account number.
    • Split payments
      If submitting payment for more than one child, please note their names and the specific amounts to be applied to each student's account either on the outside of an envelope or on an attached note.
    • Transferring money within family accounts
      Parents may wish to transfer money from one child's lunch account to another child's account.  Please contact the school office to initiate a transfer.  Only the parent can authorize this transfer.  Students and administration cannot.

    It is the parent's responsibility to monitor their child's lunch account balance.  Instructions for how to view balances in the PowerSchool portal are available here.


    • Balance at or below $10.00
      Parents will be notified by email of their balance.
    • Balance at or below negative $25.00 
      Parents will be notified by email and automated phone call of their balance.  At this point, students in grades 5-12 are allowed basic hot lunch only, consisting of entree, vegetable/fruit and milk at the daily hot lunch rate of $3.05.  Students will not be allowed to make a la carte purchases. (A la carte items are not available to students at the elementary site.)
    • Balance at or below negative $50.00
      Parents will be notified by a personal phone call from the Lourdes Academy business office with instructions on setting up a payment plan.  Middle and high school students are allowed basic hot lunch of peanut butter/jelly uncrustable, apple and milk and charged $3.05.

    Please note:  Seniors with a negative lunch balance will receive their diploma but will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
