This year’s Dr. Stanley Spanbauer Education & Leadership Award will be presented to High School Science Teacher, Barb Muza Reed.
Barb and her students are part of the Lower Fox River Watershed Monitoring Program through UW Green Bay where they collect data locally, chart and graph results, and report their findings to professionals throughout the Fox River Valley. This project contributes to the environmental health of our local waterways.
She has developed curriculum and labs to teach students about pertinent issues such as climate modeling, gene therapy for disease prevention, and cancer research to name a few.
When Lourdes started its annual Community STEM Knight, Barb and her Chemistry Club students set up a demonstration of foam, flames, and sparks that left kids wide-eyed and excited to learn more.
Prior to coming to Lourdes, Barb was a graduate and medical instructor in Washington, DC; a college science instructor at Northern Virginia and Marian University; and a science teacher at Oshkosh North and West High School where she also established a hands-on curriculum and shared her passion for science in the classroom and beyond with students of all ages.
Todd and Lisa exude Knight Pride, and they will do anything to elevate and enhance Lourdes Academy.
Lisa has served on the Dinner Auction Committee for the past two years and has worked to bring excitement and fresh ideas to the event. Todd also teamed up with Dr. Jake Jacobs as the Master of Ceremonies for the auction in 2016 raising valuable funds for the system.
Todd was one of the founding members of and served as a mentor for the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen since 2016. This group guided young men to grow in character and respect through monthly activities and lessons.
Meanwhile, Lisa pitched in to help in the classroom as a substitute teacher at a time when subs were desperately needed.
Both Todd and Lisa have poured their hearts into Lourdes athletic programs. Todd served as the Booster Club Vice President and then President from 2014 to 20202 during which time the Booster Club saw record levels of revenue and purchased two athletic vans for Lourdes. Lisa also served as the concession stand coordinator and football parent rep.
Todd and Lisa have been involved in so many other ways over the years. They’ve shared their talents to serve on the Advancement Committee and Building Committee, coach youth football and
Richard Knobloch, class of 1968, is this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award.
Rich’s entire career was spent teaching math at Lourdes, and he had a lasting impact on his students. Some have credited him for being a signiicant and positive inluence in their lives and for teaching them life lessons that went beyond the walls at Lourdes.
Besides teaching, Richard coached the math team, baseball, softball, and cross country to name a few. He even lead the Lourdes Math Team to state championship victory.
He was named Coach of the Year in 1992 for the girl’s softball team and led his teams to numerous victories.
After his retirement in 2011, he continued to tutor students in math, and the impactful legacy he left at Lourdes will be felt for generations to come.
The 2022 Outstanding Alumni Award was accepted by Rich’s wife, Sue Knobloch, on his behalf.
When you flip the pages of yearbooks from the late 1990s you will see Jared Reichenberger’s
picture throughout. Whether it was basketball, football or baseball, Jared was dedicated to representing the red and white in everything he did.
He was co-captain of the football team, MVP, and still holds the record for career rushing yards at Lourdes. Though his accomplishments didn’t stop after graduation.
He went on to play football for four years at St. Norbert College, where his team won All Conference Championships. He then coached football for the Lourdes Squires from 2014-2017.
All of his accomplishments throughout his high school career have instilled many values in Jared. He believes that athletics is important in helping to build character and gain a strong work ethic. He shows this by continuing to coach his children in youth sports and teach them the positivity, fun and hard work that comes with athletics.
Being a part of the Lourdes family has always meant a lot to him, and he takes pride in handing these values to his children.
The 1988 Girls Track Team was the irst to win a girl’s state championship in school history and also won the 1988 FRVCC Indoor meet, along with the FRVCC relay.
