2020-2021 School Year Updates
Lourdes Academy students returned to in-person learning on August 25, 2020. Safety protocols have been implemented to protect students and staff, including modified schedules, daily temperature checks, modified pick-up and drop-off procedures, and social distancing. Outdoor spaces are being put to good use to provide much needed mask breaks. Students in middle and high school also have the option to join classes virtually via Lourdes' e-Academy (view our full 2020-2021 Return to School Plan for more details).
Lourdes implemented a 1-to-1 Technology Program this year with each student in kindergarten through high school receiving their own Chromebook. Curriculum-driven technology is being incorporated into each class, and staff have received professional development training on using technology in the classroom. In the event a class or the system has to transition to e-learning at any time in the coming year, students will be ready.
We also want to reiterate the importance of continuing to be vigilant and follow the safety protocols we have put in place in order to help us continue to attend school in-person. These include:
- As cold, flu and allergy seasons pick up, please err on the side of caution if your child or someone in your home has COVID-19 symptoms. In making decisions as to whether or not your child should come to school and/or be tested for COVID-19, we are using these guidelines from the Department of Health.
- Students are doing a great job wearing their masks and physically distancing throughout the school day. Please continue to reiterate to your child(ren) the importance of practicing these safety measures, both during the school day and outside of school.
