Get to Know Fr. Ripley
Is there a bible passage that means a lot to you or that you reference regularly to help guide your daily life? Romans 8:28 is a verse that slowly began to permeate my daily life starting in college when I was at UW-Madison. St. Paul writes, "God makes all things work for good for those who love him and are called according to his purpose." Even the small things, even the mundane, even the trials both great and small that God permits, are tied up in his great love and plan for us to be with him forever.
What is one of your goals for this school year and your role as School Chaplain? As chaplain this school year, I would like to start becoming friends with the students and faculty while offering opportunities to encounter Jesus, especially through the Sacraments.
What is one thing students would be surprised to find out about you? One thing students would be surprised to find out about me is that I have a U.S. patent for something I and a few others designed during senior year of college.
Degrees and Certifications:
Marquette University: Bachelors in Theology and Psychology
Mrs. Amanda Zinthefer | Pastoral Youth Minister
Prior to joining our Lourdes Academy Family, Mrs. Zinthefer taught theology at St. Mary Springs Academy and was a High School Coordinator at Holy Family Church, both located in Fond du lac. She is looking forward to getting to know our Lourdes Academy students and creating an organized framework for students to participate in their faith outside of the classroom.
When talking about her own faith, Mrs. Zinthefer says, “I love Jesus a lot! I try to spend every day loving Him and being loved by Him…with varying success of course!”
With degrees in Theology and Psychology from Marquette University, in addition to coordinating opportunities for students to practice their faith, Mrs. Zinthefer will partner with Mrs. Carie Kollat in the middle school counseling office. Mrs. Zinthefer will lead lessons in middle school classrooms and also support students in their overall social and emotional health.
When not at school, Mrs. Zinthefer enjoys hiking and playing rugby with her husband Jon and dog Bo.

High School Service Hour Graduation Requirements
As a demonstration of our Catholic Christian faith, all students are required to complete 70* hours of community service. Students must demonstrate progress toward this goal by keeping a pace of 10 hours of service per semester through their first seven semesters.
Students who belong to a Catholic parish are required to complete 25 hours of parish service as part of the 70* hour requirement.
*On April 22, 2020, President John Dinegan in accordance with Board Policy 6031, approved the following ammendments to total service hours due to the CoronaVirus event in Spring 2020.
- All students total service hours requirements have been reduced by 5 hours (from 75 to 70 hours)
- Parish requirements per student remain the same.
